The group created a campaign called, “Christmas In October” bringing big smiles to underprivileged children in Atlanta!
Arrested Development along with their management, Joe Lamont identified some awesome organizations that work with lower income families (including families below the poverty line).
- With their help we’ve arranged for 500 families to come & see Yo Gabba Gabba Live & visit the Botanical Gardens for free!
Show info is: The FOX THEATER, SUNDAY OCTOBER 30TH. 2PM & 5 PM
The organizations involved with AD’s Christmas in October campaign are Centennial Place Elementary, Child Development Association of Roswell, Pro Active Management Consulting, & All About Developmental Disabilities
Of course AD gives mad thanks to Yo Gabba Gabba the extremely popular kids TV show seen in countries around the world, for allowing this arrangement. The Botanical Gardens also pitched in by giving us 500 guest passes, & now even ZOO ATLANTA has agreed to get involved! Radio One Atlanta 102.5, immediately got on board with helping us get the word out about our mission!
The huge numbers make you feel small. The headlines from overseas make you feel distant. Certain corporations and their power make you feel powerless. But yet LOVE never fails! Love is the catalyst to repair every problem in our world. Sure, everyone of us cannot fix everything, but by rolling up our sleeves we change the very fabric of what’s wrong in our world and make things better.
Arrested Development is about “Life Music”, from songs, to serving. Getting in there with everyday people to change the worlds outcome. Speech (author of the book “What is Success?“) leads a ministry of artists & entertainers, choosing to mainly fight the battles people have on a more spiritual front. “The spirit is ground zero for whatever corrodes the world. I used to be more concerned with politics, cuz I thought it was where change happens, but I’ve since learned that the true battle field is in the heart. If you get a heart to see the world differently it affects everything from politics, family to relationships”, says Speech. AD’s guitar player, JJ Boogie agrees; having met in church, JJ now teaches advanced bible classes and conducts lessons that help people think of the spiritual realm more practically. Speech & JJ, have informal bible studies with average people to help make the spiritual realm more relatable. Za’ (AD’s bass player) takes a more constitutional approach, teaching people to understand their rights as U.S. citizens & uncovering ways the everyday person gets duped. “I want to empower people”, he adds. Eshe through the art of dance, trains inner-city kids to use their gifts for positive! The whole group donates money & time to various organizations from Debbie Pleager (former prisoner), National Coalition for the homeless, UNICEF, ANC, Toms Shoes, David Lynch Foundation, Hosea Feed the Hungry, to the Terrence N. Thomas Scholarship Fund, helping inner-city students go all the way through college.

AD members are encouraged to be active in their own ways, but the group as a whole is about getting in the trenches and making a difference. If your organization, university or corporation is interested in having AD come play, speak or serve, give a shout at the contact section of the website.

It’s about making ourselves available.
